Rio 2011 also known as Rio 3D is a 3D computer-animated film directed by Carlos Saldanha. Rio stars the voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Rodrigo Santoro, Bebel Gilberto, Jamie Foxx, Will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Jake T. Austin, Leslie Mann, Jemaine Clement, Jane Lynch. Rio is slated for a release in Brazil on April 8, 2011 and North America on April 15, 2011.
A nerdy macaw from small-town Minnesota takes off on an adventure to Rio de Janeiro. Blu, an uncommon macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there’s another and that she’s a she he leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio. But it's far from love at first sight between the domesticated and high-flying female, Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they board on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life’s many curiosity.
